Frisco City Charter

Under the City Charter, the City is required to appoint a City Charter Review Commission (CCRC) consisting of ten (10) citizens at least every six (6) years. State law prevents the city from amending the City Charter within two (2) years of the last change.

The City Council last appointed a CCRC in 2018, and the recommended amendments were adopted by voters on May 4, 2019 (canvassed by the Council on May 14, 2019). The earliest that another set of amendments could be placed on the ballot for voters to consider would be the first uniform election date after May 3, 2021 (currently November 2, 2021). Council is required to appoint another CCRC no later than April 2, 2024.

Frisco PAC is working to develop recommendations for consideration by the next City Charter Review Commission in line with the PAC’s mission, values, and goals.

Draft recommendations are being prepared for the following amendments to the City Charter:

  • Elections
  • Ethics
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
